NIVAALA · BESPOKE FAMILY COOKBOOKS

Your family's recipes. Beautifully preserved. Forever.

We come to your kitchen. We listen to your stories. We turn your family's food heritage into a handcrafted cookbook that will outlast all of us.

WHY THIS MATTERS

There is a recipe you have eaten your whole life. You know it by smell, the moment the tempering hits the pan, the particular sweetness of a dish made only at weddings, the way your grandmother adjusted the heat without looking at a clock. You have never written it down. Neither has anyone else.

Nivaala's Bespoke Family Cookbook service exists for exactly this moment, before it becomes a memory, before it becomes a loss. We handle everything, from the first conversation to the last printed page, so that your family's food story becomes a book worthy of the table it came from.

HOW IT WORKS

From first call to finished book, we handle everything.

Step 1

The Discovery Conversation

We begin by understanding your family, who the cooks are, which recipes matter most, what occasions they belong to, and what you want to preserve. This is where your book begins.
Step 2

The Kitchen Sessions

Our team comes to you, in person or virtually, to record the cooks in your family. We interview, observe, and listen in whichever language your family cooks in.
Step 3

Transcription & Story Editing

We transcribe every recording, refine every recipe, and shape the stories around each dish into something worth reading aloud. Your voices stay your voices, we make them sing.
Step 4

Design & Layout

Our design team creates a book that is as beautiful as the food it describes. Every element, typography, palette, illustration, is chosen to reflect your family's identity.
Step 5

Your Review

You receive a complete digital proof. This is your book, we revise until it is exactly right. Every detail, every photograph, every caption..
Step 6

Print & Delivery

Premium archival-quality print, hardcover binding, delivered to your door. Ready to be shared, gifted, and kept for every generation that comes after.

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

Everything you need to know.

Yes. We conduct kitchen sessions virtually for families spread across cities or countries. Many of our most moving cookbooks have been made this way, a grandmother in Jaipur, a daughter in Singapore, a son in London, all brought together in one book.

This is precisely why we exist. The vast majority of cookbooks we make begin with not a single written recipe, only the cooks, their hands, and their memories. That is enough. We know how to ask the questions that unlock everything.

A standard cookbook includes 20–30 recipes. We can go deeper for families with large collections, some of our books have documented over 100 recipes across three generations.

Absolutely. Old photographs, kitchen photographs, portraits, we scan and design them into the book beautifully. If you'd like a professional photoshoot as part of the project, we can arrange that too.

Yes. We work with Indian diaspora families globally. Kitchen sessions are conducted virtually, and books are shipped internationally. Food heritage has no borders.

WHAT MAKES OURS DIFFERENT

"Most cookbook services give you a template and a deadline. We give you a Nivaala."

We are storytellers before we are designers. Every book we make is shaped by the belief that a recipe is never just a recipe, it is a relationship, a memory, a way of saying I love youwithout saying it. Our team has documented the food stories of over 200 families across India. We know how to listen for what matters.

We also bring our Gourmand World Cookbook Award-winning editorial sensibility to every project. Your family's book will be beautiful enough to sit on a coffee table, and personal enough to make your grandmother cry.
